Lead Safe Homes Program
Lead exposure, especially in older homes, poses serious health risks, particularly for young children. Our comprehensive program not only addresses lead hazards but also empowers families with education and resources to ensure a sustainable, lead-free environment. Join us in our mission to build better homes and brighter futures—together, we can make a difference!
History
Lead paint, commonly found in homes built before 1978, poses significant health risks, particularly to children and pregnant women. When lead-based paint deteriorates, it can create dust and chips that are easily ingested or inhaled. Exposure to lead can lead to serious developmental issues, learning disabilities, and behavioral problems in children.
Additionally, adults may experience health issues such as high blood pressure, kidney damage, and reproductive problems. Ensuring a lead-safe environment is crucial for protecting the health and well-being of families, making it essential to address lead hazards in older homes promptly and effectively.
